Supplementation Programme

Supplementation Protocols:

At Health Direction we believe that supplementation can never replace a bad diet, it can however fill the nutritional gaps left in a good diet.

So why should we take supplements when we eat a healthy diet and should therefore get all the vitamins and minerals we need from our food?

To answer this question you ask yourself:

  1. Do you eat five to seven servings of fresh fruits and vegetables a day?
  2. Were the fruits and vegetables that you bought from the supermarket (from South America or Africa) allowed to ripen on the vine before they were picked?
  3. Was your produce sitting in a storage shed for some period of time before you bought it? Did it travel over continents to reach you?
  4. Are you eating organically grown food or are you eating commercially chemicalized food?
  5. Did the soil that your vegetables were grown in have all of the trace minerals in the ground?
  6. Do you eat three balanced meals everyday?
  7. Do you eat your vegetables raw, steamed or lightly stir-fried in a healthy oil?
  8. Do you have a family history of diabetes, cancer, hart disease?
  9. Are you getting some form of exercise at least three times a week?
  10. Do you have a hectic and stressful life?
  11. Do you eat convenience or junk food?
  12. Do you smoke, drink caffeinated drinks or alcohol?
  13. Do you eat deep fried food, refined carbohydrates or food containing trans fats?
At Health Direction we recognise the uniqueness of each individual and adjust our supplementation programmes accordingly to take in consideration your age, gender and specific health and lifestyle requirements.

Though dietary modifications are emphasised, we may advise you to take:
•  A basic maintenance programme based on a high bio-available multi vitamin and
   mineral and essential fatty acids
•  A personalised supplementation support programme to address biochemical
   imbalances and deficiencies
